Her work includes veteran and military mental health, where she has provided specialized care to those who have served, helping them cope with the psychological impacts of their experiences. In school-based therapy, Dr. Stultz has supported children and adolescents, guiding them through emotional and behavioral issues within the educational environment. She has also provided in-home therapy for at-risk youth and their families, delivering critical interventions in a setting where they can feel safe and supported.
Dr. Stultz’s expertise extends to substance use treatment, where she addresses the multifaceted nature of addiction and recovery. She is particularly skilled in treating co-occurring disorders, understanding the intricate relationship between substance use and mental health conditions. She serves as a Principal Investigator in the University of Maine System, where she leads research and advocacy initiatives aimed at strengthening the behavioral health workforce in the State of Maine. Her research focuses on identifying gaps in mental health care access and developing strategies to address these critical needs, driven by her passion for improving the quality and availability of care in her community.
In addition to her research, Dr. Stultz is an adjunct professor at the University of Massachusetts, Global Campus. She teaches master’s level courses in substance use diagnostics, research methodologies, and internship seminars, where she shares her extensive knowledge and experience with the next generation of mental health professionals. Her teaching is characterized by a commitment to preparing students for the realities of clinical practice, emphasizing the importance of both technical skills and compassionate care.
